President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov signed a decree on 24 January on appointing Pulat Bobojonov as acting hokim (head of administration) of Khorezm region.

By another decree of the head of the state, Ollabergan Ollaberganov was relieved of the duties of the hokim of the region.
