Industry plays a very important role in the economy and employment.
According to preliminary data from the National Statistics Committee, as of April 1, 2026, more than 61,000 industrial enterprises were operating in the republic.
In January-March 2026, the republic's enterprises produced industrial products worth 289,254.4 billion soums, and the industrial production index compared to the same period last year was 108.0%.
As of April 1, 2026, the number of operating enterprises with foreign capital participation across the republic amounted to 19,072. Of these, 4,392 are joint ventures and 14,680 are foreign enterprises.
The republic's foreign trade turnover for January-March 2026 amounted to 18,023.0 million US dollars. US dollars and increased by 471.0 million US dollars compared to the corresponding period last year. US dollars, or 2.7%.
Exports amounted to 5,809.2 million dollars. US dollars and decreased by 29.3% compared to the corresponding period last year.
Imports amounted to 12,213.8 million USD. US dollars and, compared to the corresponding period last year, increased by 30.8%.
The Republic of Uzbekistan maintains trade relations with 210 countries worldwide.
On April 21, 2025, the Presidential Decree "On the Privatization Program for 2025" was adopted.
